When you drop a SafeZone into a fire-rated ceiling, you’re installing a rated assembly — not just a fixture. Wafer disk (spring-clip cutout install) · Plug-n-Play J-Box (remote · 5-CCT dip on the face) · optional T-Grid Installation Kit (4″ / 6″ · lay-in to 2×2 or 2×4 grid without cutting tile). The Radius SafeZone wafer disk — a stamped aluminum heat-sink with frosted polycarbonate lens, edge-lit PMMA optic, and spring-loaded retention clips. Drops into a standard cutout (3-9/16″ for 3″ · 4-3/4″ for 4″ · 6-13/16″ for 6″ · 8-7/8″ for 8″) and pops in with the clips. No can, no separate housing, no enclosure box. The aluminum housing has been independently tested as part of the rated assembly to UL 263 and ASTM E119 — meaning the disk + J-Box hold 2-hour fire resistance together with no tent above. A plenum-rated quick-connector cable links the wafer to the remote J-Box (Component 2).

Radius SafeZone shares the Plug-n-Play J-Box / edge-lit PMMA optical platform with Radius-II — same beam shape, same single 110° even-distribution PMMA cone, with SafeZone catalog lumens (550 / 957 / 1,330 / 1,692 lm @ 4000K). The polar plots below are the real LM-79 IES distribution from the shared platform — tested by EVERFINE on a GO-2000B goniophotometer (2024-02 / 2024-06). 3″ (LDRS3) and 8″ (LDRS8) photometrics not yet published — flagged for engineering follow-up. SafeZone-labeled IES files for all 4 sizes are pending lab cert and will be re-published to WorkDrive once received.

Radius SafeZone is the fire-rated SKU set in the Radius family — the 2-hour UL 263 + ASTM E119 hammer for fire-rated corridors, stairwells, and rated bath / wet assemblies in multifamily. It shares the Plug-n-Play J-Box architecture and 5-CCTselect platform with Radius-II (the non-fire-rated sibling) and Radius-I (the original Radius). Pick SafeZone where the assembly is rated; pick Radius-II elsewhere on the same property for spec consistency.
